Hurricane Harvey

Hurricane Harvey made landfall Friday, August 25th, 2017 between Port Arkansas and Port O'Connor, TX at a Category 4 in strength. The hurricane was later downgraded to a tropical storm, yet continues to produce massive amounts of rain and tornadoes, causing widespread damage.

According to a CBS News report, there have been an estimated 63 deaths related to Harvey. Many deaths occur as a result of people caught in quick rising floodwaters or due to loss of control on water-logged roads. Furthermore, power outages from the storm have also accounted for the rising death toll. Already the rain has totaled nearly 52 inches (1.3 meters) in areas of Texas.

Do Your Part is ready to assist the most vulnerable families impacted by this devastation with the challenges of short and long term recovery needs and resources. We will case manage the most vulnerable individuals and families to fill the gaps. So many are uninsured, or under-insured, and are in great need of assistance. In a widespread catastrophic event like this, it is imperative to focus on families and individuals without back up resources. Funds will be distributed in the form of gift cards; grants for building and repair materials; and emergency housing, to aid people with their urgent immediate and long term recovery needs.

Please help us make a difference.
